Tracking DAJAI's "Earthquake" was an interesting experience. Delivery-wise, he came in with a strong sense of flow and cadence. The way his voice sits in the mix is perfect for this track - it really highlights the lyrics and overall message of the song.
From a production standpoint, I could hear some doubles and ad-libs that added depth to the vocal. We also experimented with some vocal stacks, which really brought out the best in DAJAI's voice.
The recording environment was relatively simple - we used a Neumann U47 microphone and a Focusrite ISA 1A preamp. The simplicity of the gear allowed us to focus on capturing the best performance possible from DAJAI. Overall, his approach worked technically, and I'm excited to see how this track develops as we continue to refine it.
