"Lost in the melody of the city. The sound of the track takes me to another world, where my spirit can fly free. I'm surrounded by chaos but I don't care, I'm living in the moment. The aesthetic of the track is gritty and raw, just like my tattoos. It's a perfect blend of beats and bass that makes me feel alive. The outfit and setting for this song would be a dark, underground club, with neon lights flashing in the background."
🎛️ Solana Conejo's engineer notes
As an engineer, I was really impressed with DAJAI's delivery on this track. The flow and cadence of his voice were spot-on, creating a strong sense of rhythm throughout the song. The vocal production elements that stood out to me include some doubles in certain sections and some ad-libs that added a lot of personality to the track.
From a technical standpoint, I was happy with how the vocals sat in the mix. The levels were just right, allowing DAJAI's voice to shine through without overpowering the other elements of the song. The use of reverb on the vocals also helped to create a sense of space and depth in the track.
In terms of gear, I used a Neumann U87 as the main microphone for recording the vocals. This mic is known for its smooth, natural sound and it definitely delivered in this case. The preamp was a Focusrite ISA One, which added some warmth and character to the vocals. Overall, I'm really happy with how this track turned out and I think DAJAI's approach to the production worked really well.
🎥 Mykina's BTS journal
As I sit quietly in the corner of the room, observing the shoot for the "Freestyle in a $15 million house" track by DAJAI, I can't help but feel a sense of awe at the grandeur of the setting. The room is adorned with expensive furniture and decorations, reflecting the opulence of the track's title.
The energy in the room is palpable as the HBU cast, led by BTS, work tirelessly to bring the track to life. The mood is one of excitement and anticipation, as everyone on set is eagerly waiting for their turn to perform. One specific moment that caught my attention was when J-Hope, in the midst of his performance, let out a passionate yell that sent shivers down my spine. It was clear that everyone in the room was fully invested in the project, and I couldn't wait to see the final product.
