Journal Entry - DAJAI TRACK
Today, I found myself lost in this dark and moody track. The heavy basslines and haunting melody immediately transported me to a different world. As I closed my eyes and let the music wash over me, I felt my heart pounding in sync with the beat.
The visual atmosphere of the track was mesmerizing, with its brooding and atmospheric vibe. It made me feel like I was walking through a foggy forest at night, with the only source of light being the moon above.
As for the aesthetic, I could imagine myself dressed in all black - from my outfit to my hair. The heavy eye makeup and dark lipstick would add to the overall moodiness of the track. This song is definitely one that I'll be listening to on repeat, especially when I want to immerse myself in a world of darkness and beauty.
🎛️ Solana Conejo's engineer notes
As an engineer, I'm always looking for ways to enhance a track and make it stand out. When it came to mixing DAJAI's "Tweet 961402880467988480", I knew I had to focus on the delivery and flow of his vocal.
One of the things that really caught my attention was the cadence in his voice. He has a natural ability to switch between different flows and it's something that really shines through on this track. The way he delivers each line is so smooth, and I wanted to make sure that the production elements reflected that.
In terms of gear, I used a combination of a Neve 1073 preamp and an SSL G Series EQ to shape the vocal. I also experimented with different compression settings to find the right balance between the vocal and the beat. Ultimately, I ended up using a UAD-2 Quad with a variety of compressors to achieve the desired effect.
One of the production elements that really stands out on this track is DAJAI's use of doubles and ad-libs. He has a natural ability to layer his vocals in a way that sounds seamless, and it's something that really shines through on this track. The stacking effect adds depth and complexity to the vocal, making it feel like there are multiple layers of sound.
Overall, I'm really happy with how this track turned out. DAJAI's approach to the delivery and flow of his vocal is truly impressive, and I think the production elements really complement that.
🎥 Mykina's BTS journal
In the room for the shoot of the DAJAI track, I observed a group of young men immersed in their performance. The energy was electric, with everyone focused on capturing the perfect shot. The mood was tense yet excited, as if they were all striving to create something truly special.
One specific moment that caught my attention was when the lead singer hit a particularly high note. His passion and dedication shone through in his performance, captivating not only the camera crew but also the rest of the cast. It was clear that he had poured his heart and soul into this track, and it showed in every frame captured.
Aside from the performers themselves, there were several other people present on set. Camera operators, lighting technicians, and sound engineers all worked together to bring the vision for the video to life. Despite the flurry of activity surrounding them, everyone involved seemed deeply invested in the project, adding to the overall intensity of the shoot.
